Micro Content For Digital AI Assistant and Conversational Interfaces

The way we consume digital content on the web is changing. Voice platforms such as Google Home and Alexa are driving the need for new solutions to serving content.

Traditionally, content is served through an organisation's website, or via social media feeds. This content generally sits in a Content Management System (CMS) such as Kentico, Umbraco, Wordpress etc, from where it is served 'en-masse' in html pages.

Serving content this way works fine for large websites, but it does not lend itself to the new wave of conversational interfaces like the Google Assistant and bot frameworks. These new interfaces will need access to 'micro content' for their users, served in an ad-hoc fashion dependent on the conversation flow rather than the web page currently being viewed.

As a business, what you don't want are separate code bases and content so one possible solution could be a new breed of Micro Content APIs and Services.
